Watering
Water is the quintessential symbol for the life cycle, vital to all life on earth. The myriad
of the human experience can be realized through this medium. A well of both birth and wonderment, death and mystery, the disconnect between humans and their basic liquid environment, particularly when considered through the modern lens, is a fragile condition. "Watering" is a meditation on this alienation from and our reconnection with our most universal source of sustenance.
The three movements, "Approach," "Encounter", and "Drift," reflect the process of the human effort to reunite with this element from which we have become estranged. The simultaneous dialogue; dramas which encompass the search, vulnerability and fear, the acceptance, discovery and joy, which inevitably unfold are not only mirrored but embraced, serving to both recognize and honor water as our host.
